Preferred Signage Provider- OAI Visual Branding Creates Stadium Graphics for 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship Game
As a leading provider for stadium signage, OAI Visual Branding was a preferred signage provider of graphics and branding that decorated Raymond James Stadium for the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Working with the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, College Football Playoff and Infinite Scale Design, OAI produced and installed temporary signage featuring the College Football Playoff brand, as well as the participating teams and sponsors of the game.
To accomplish the signage goals for this first-class event, OAI met on location with the host organizations to determine the available areas for branding. Once the desired branding initiatives were chosen, product and material recommendations were made and the project’s production schedule was determined in order to meet the College Football Playoff’s deadlines. The next steps for OAI’s art and production departments was to test and determine the necessary file preparation that would ensure color matching across the various signage materials for the College Football Playoff. Prepping for the quick turn-around in the days leading up the event, OAI prepared art files for the four last-standing four teams inline to play in the National Championship Game. OAI was able to create the cohesive look with a Pantone digital color certified proofing system in the art department and high-end spectrophotometers in production to validate medias and create custom profiles.
Once the final two teams were determined, OAI worked quickly to send the art files to production featuring Clemson University and the University of Alabama. The grand format and dye sublimation department at OAI then took over to produce the signage featured around Raymond James Stadium which was approximately 276,626 square feet of graphics. The scoreboard decals, fence wraps, fabric banners, custom sails, flags, vinyl banners, field walls and mesh banners produced were then installed by OAI at Raymond James using plenty of manpower and lifts reaching up to 150 feet high. The result was a transformed venue for the College Football National Championship Game which was seen by more than 26 million people. Throughout the game and now after Clemson’s victory, the stadium signage was featured in social media, TV news features and newspaper articles nationwide.
