We know how dentrimental the limitations at the stadiums are to the sports industry as well as the fans themselves. Due to this environment, and after collaborating with experts across the industry, OAI started brainstorming solutions. In the paragraphs to come, we have shared a few options to help create the fan experience “2020 style”. Additionally, many of the solutions are creative ways to include sponsors and generate impressions through fan social media, promotional collateral, website photo galleries, foot traffic and potential branding integration. Thus solving for much needed contractual “make goods” when stands are empty.
Stadium Seat Savers & In-Bowl Enhancements
Enable fans, sponsors and key community figures to still be a part of the crowd by taking the traditional sponsored seat cover and adding a bit of design. The utilization of quotes, multiple sponsors, or “hidden imagery” enables talking points for TV commentators and fun social content. Branding and adding to the visual appeal of in-bowl items include: Pylon Decals, Goal Post Covers, Toblerone Sideline Graphics, and Distorted Carpet – 3D Carpets. This activation helps create a “full stadium feel” on game day as well as opportunities for sponsor impressions.
Stadium Walls
Stadium façades and open spaces provide the perfect canvas for large out of home designs. Utilizing billboards or wallscapes, the possibilities are only limited by space. This activation helps create a community and unified feel on game day as well as opportunities for sponsor impressions.
Player Walks/Crowd Walls
Surround the pathways players take from the parking lot to the locker room on game day with images and messages from the fans and sponsors. Or, place them anywhere extra cheer is needed. Not only does this help create a less desolate game day atmosphere, but it also provides some player motivation.
Homegating
Through the team or sponsor, fans can get an official homegating designation to proudly display in their yards. This activation creates a community and unified feel on game day.
Tailgate Zone
When it comes to teams able to host fans, tailgating will look a bit different. Mark out socially acceptable zones and designating them by a title sponsor will help people better understand where to set-up.
